How to Create a Custom Calculated Field

Management > Site Setup > Website Setup> Site Customization> Custom Fields

OR

Person Icon in Upper Right > Website Setup>Site Customization>Custom Fields

  • Click “Add Custom Field”, at the bottom
  • Select the PRODUCTION radio button under “Where does the Field Show on the Site” area

  • Name the field (TAX, HST, GST etc)
  • Select “Calculated Field” from the Input Type Drop-down
  • Create formula needed to calculate amount – remember to click “add to formula after each selection; can click reset to start formula over
  • Select the field to be used as the base for the calculation (Net, Gross)
  • Select the mathematical operation that is needed for the calculation (add, multiply etc)
  • Enter the VALUE needed to complete the calculation (5%, 6% etc.) – use a decimal (.05)
  • You can then test your calculation to see if there are any errors in the setup
  • Field can be restricted/linked to specific Departments, Users, and/or Products/zones as needed
  • Click SAVE
  • Field is now added to the Order entry process and will calculate the Tax

Note: You will also need to pull the custom field into Proposal and Invoice Templates as needed. The field can be used in flex reporting and on invoice/proposal templates.
