Using Hotspots, Page Links and Interactive Layers

Search for:
In the Plan View (1)> Content View (2) – you can double-click on any page to create hotspots and/or interactive layers (3)

- Click And drag any of the links to the page to create a hotspot.
- You can resize the area and change the placement of the hotspot/interactivity
- Click on the blue “I” icon to define and specify the properties
- Can add a name (optional)
HOTSPOT:

- Select desired behavior for the Hotspot under the TYPE dropdown
- URL– enter a valid URL in the proper format (http://google.com)
- GOTO– enter a valid page number (digits only)
- NONE– only a text balloon will appear with a designated “Tool Tip”

- Hotspot Styling – Now create colorful hotspots, specify border width, border color and background color. Double click a page to go to page design mode to update Hotspot style. This feature is specifically for the readers.
- Auto Hotspot Creation – Upload any pdfs, which have embedded hyperlinks and assign them to pages.
- ALL URL’s need to start with “http”. It will either be http:// for Non-Secure pages or https:// for Secure pages. You will need to confirm when checking web addresses whether it will need the “s”..
- Click the BLUE PHOTO icon and drag the icon to the page to create interactive layers.
- You can resize the area and change the placement of the hotspot/interactivity
- Click on the blue “I” icon to define and specify the properties

INTERACTIVITY:
Select the kind of interactivity from the TYPE dropdown

- VIDEO –

- Choose type (Video, Audio, Video link) > add interactivity name (optional) > add title (optional) > add Description (optional)
- Choose video options (Autoplay and Loop will only work if the video is uploaded to Digital Studio, if Streaming URL is used this will not work)
- Video source – Digital Studio Asset, the video should be uploaded in the library folder (50mb max). Stream URL, copy and past the URL from YouTube (or similar) into box below.
- If the slideshow container cannot show all numbered icons together due to container dimensions, then left/right arrow buttons will appear to show the invisible numbered icons
Audio:

- Imbed an Audio File
- Only mp3 files are supported – the easiest of all
- Normally in digital editions 1 to 2.5 mins audio works best
- As a rule of thumb less than or equal to 5MB audio file size is recommended
